Dear Sir,

Cllr. J.D. Clare has declared himself to be a member of Labour and therefore a “Democratic Socialist”. The now defunct USSR claimed to be the, “The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics”. It was Communist. The GDR was one of its ‘Socialist Republics’. It was Communist and built a wall to keep its people in! Socialism covers a very broad spectrum, the greater part of which is Communist!

What’s in a name? The name is immaterial; it is the ideology that is put into practice that matters.

I did not call Cllr. J.D. Clare ‘evil’ or a ‘cancer’. I called the infiltration of New Labour by the evil Momentum Movement, a cancer. Cllr. Clare denies being a Momentum member. Unfortunately, no local Labour party member is willing to tell the electorate if they, or other Labour members are also Momentum members, or supporters. We are left to decide by their actions and the ideology they support.

Cllr. Kathy Beetham is/was a joint Labour/Momentum member. Cllr. J.D. Clare was her ‘apologist’ when she let her ‘Labour’ mask slip and exposed her undemocratic, evil, anti-Semitic, Momentum ideology.

Further, Cllr. J.D. Clare’s Sedgefield Constituency Labour/Momentum Party endorsed Rebecca Long-Bailey’s candidature for Labour Party Leader. Sir Keir Starmer had to sack her from the Shadow Cabinet after she re-tweeted an abhorrent anti-Semitic lie. Clearly, the local Labour Party is under the influence of Momentum activists. If it walks like a duck, quacks like duck, it’s a duck!

Like Cllr. Clare, I profess to believe in Democracy. I believe in freedom of thought and freedom of speech. I don’t support ‘Extinction Rebellion’; Cllr. Clare does. Extinction Rebellion blockaded the print works of national newspapers, denying freedom of expression. Is Cllr. Clare naïve or hypocritical? I think the latter, after all, you don’t hear the Fishmonger shouting, “Stinking Fish”.

Frightening the children into supporting a cause whose main aim appears to be to stop economic growth, is wrong.

Wasting time and money on trying to stop a natural cycle is stupid in the extreme. We have evolved to live with a changing climate (it changes four times a year). We need to benefit from climate change. More sun and more rain equals more growth and more photosynthesis equals more carbon storage. More rain should not equate to more torrents and floods, rather it should lead to more water storage. I challenge climate warriors to suggest a method of power generation that is cheaper and more environmentally friendly than Hydro-Electricity. Let’s work with more free rainfall and free gravity to produce natural energy and forget the ideology.

Yours Sincerely,

Alastair P.G. Welsh
