Applicants with a background in further or higher education or Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) would be especially welcomed.

Expertise in funding, financial management and audit or estates, property management, energy and sustainability would also be advantageous.

All applicants also need to be passionate about transforming lives through learning and building long term prosperity in South Durham, to help the Board achieve its vision of providing exceptional learning opportunities and facilitating local economic regeneration.

Governor roles are voluntary but highly rewarding, broadening experience and offering regular training and professional development opportunities.

Successful applicants will play a leadership role in local economic development initiatives, help deliver growth in key industry sectors and generate further improvements in the quality of education the college offers.

More information can be obtained from Clerk to the Corporate Board Ann Robinson-Ruddock at ann.robinson-ruddock@bacoll.ac.uk. The deadline for applications is Friday 12 May 2023.
