Sad News for the Newton Aycliffe Community
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Ann Hordon (née Mortimer), formerly Belton and Allen, aged 87.
A lifelong resident of Newton Aycliffe, Ann was known and loved by so many. To many she was simply ‘Auntie Ann’, a familiar face who always had a smile, a chat and time for everyone. Many will remember Ann as the Milk Lady, delivering milk around the town, while others will know her from the many happy years she spent socialising at the Phoenix Club, where she made many lifelong friends. A much-loved Mam, Grandma, Auntie and friend, Ann touched the lives of countless people across the community. Her warmth, humour and kindness will be fondly remembered, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with all of Ann’s family and friends at this difficult time. Rest in peace, Auntie Ann. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew you.
