A lifelong Newton Aycliffe resident and entrepreneur has made his long term ambition to become a magician and entertainer thanks to the GAMP Area Action Partnership’s flagship ‘Step into Business’ grant scheme.
David Sanders accessed the ‘Step into Business’ fund, a scheme set up by the AAP with the aim of helping residents obtain the funding and assistance that is essential to get their businesses started.
David practiced magic as a hobby and has done many charity events, entertaining both children and adults alike. When he was made redundant from his retail job he took the opportunity to start his own business “Mr Abro Magical Zone” with the help of the funding. He already had most of the equipment he needed to run his hobby, but the “Step into Business” fund helped David with essential bits of equipment to turn his hobby into a business. David is now available for parties, children’s parties, corporate events and fetes.
David commented:
“With the help of the grant I got my computer, printer and Equity insurance. I was able to expand my business with the money I saved by getting the grant by buying a trailer and turning it into a mobile stage for punch and Judy, and magic shows. All this would not have been possible without the GAMP grant”
David is now running his business within the Newton Aycliffe area and beyond. You can contact David on 01325 310 194 to discuss your requirements.
