Escomb Warriors 0 vs Heighington AFC 6
We played our final match of 2020 and what a way to finish off, playing against Escomb Warriors the lads played their hearts out and ended up being the actual warriors on the pitch.
Harry was super keeper, he just keeps getting better every week. His positioning and concentration was perfect today and to top it off he kept his first clean sheet. First half defenders, Watson, Yaley and Jay. All three were immense, keeping Escombs attackers extremely quiet. Helping start attack after attack with some excellent passing to the midfield.
Second half defenders of Ollie A, Benjamin and Watson. It was a seemless change around with the lads not allowing Escomb anytime at all on the ball.
Our midfielders of Cole, Coleby and Daniel ran the show. Non-stop running, winning every second ball and the passing was brilliant. Energy levels were through the roof with each of them not stopping running the whole match.
Strikers Ted and Chapman both closing the ball down and working hard throughout. With their intelligent runs and skill on the ball they made the Escomb defenders worried the whole match.
Goals scored: Coleby 3 (2nd hat trick in the last two matches), Cole 1 (screamer into the top corner from 20 yards out), Ted 1 (tucked into the bottom corner from the edge of the box), Chapman 1 (direct from a corner).
MoM went to three players, Cole, Coleby and Watson. All three were the backbone of the victory with their hard work, skill and determination. Unfortunately this was Jay’s final match for us as he is moving away from the area with his Mam. From everyone involved in the team, we wish him good luck in his big move and hope he continues his football journey. He will be missed by the whole team.
