On Sunday 1st October, Newton Aycliffe FC, Junior Section, delighted their young players with a ‘NAFC Club Colour Run’ around the grounds of Newton Aycliffe Sports Club.
Over 200 players, along with their families, came along to join in the fun which consisted of club volunteers poised at various ‘colour stations’ situated around the cricket/rugby area of the Sports Club ready to throw specialised coloured powder paint at the juniors as they made their way around the course. It was a really fantastic day for all involved!
NAFC Junior Section is growing year on year and are set to hit the 300 player mark this season. It is rare that so many of the players get to meet together at events such as this and the committee feel that these days are important to make it a happy club. The event proved to be a fantastic morale boosting and team bonding day for coaches, families and the players, not to mention colourful! There were smiles all round and the brief spell of rain didn’t spoil the fun at all. As well as the run itself, and the obligatory funday bouncy castles, players had a chance to throw wet sponges at their coaches in the stocks which was very popular with the younger players. There were some very soaked but happy football coaches by the end of the day!!
NAFC would like to thank Kayleigh, the club committee and staff at Newton Aycliffe Sports Club for helping to make these great events possible and look forward to planning next years!
