An appeal has been launched for any resident who has surplus wool in their knitting basket.
The appeal is for local volunteers to knit poppies to adorn the fencing outside St. Clare’s Church for the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day on 11th November 2018.
Obviously the “knitters” need the wool to be red and green in colour.
We would like to thank Boyes for their £10 donation towards the wool required. This will purchase approximately 5 balls of wool, however it is estimated that 60 balls of wool will be needed.
If you do have any red or green wool which you would like to donate, or purchase and donate to the appeal, they can be handed in to reception at Newton Press (next to the Blue Bridge).
