Students at Stephenson Way Academy and Nursery School have recently elected a Head Boy and Head Girl for the first time.
Callum and Tilly, along with a shortlist of 4 other hopefuls, have been busy canvassing support from the rest of the pupils. After making a written application and giving several speeches to different groups Callum and Tilly were elected to their posts by children of all ages from across the school.
Parents were invited to the assembly where results were announced, and the school presented the two successful pupils with their cherished Head Boy and Head Girl badges. On receiving her badge, Tilly said ‘I want to help make our school the very best it can be’.
Callum stated that he wanted to encourage all the children to concentrate on their work to get the very best grades possible. Also appointed at the same time, were four prefects, Aaron, Ellie, Charlie and Maisie.
All six children will have an important role in school, including meeting with visitors and governors, representing the school at events and of course setting the best of examples for other pupils to follow.
The school said that they were delighted with the pupils’ choice for Head Boy and Head Girl, and that all six children will do a brilliant job in their roles.
