Greenfield Arts had three fabulous sessions during the half-term break which saw families getting together to get creative and have fun. The first session was held at Foundations Building, Shildon, it had a real buzz about it as our brilliant tutor Dawn Belshaw got everyone busy making bumble-bee and ladybird insect hotels. The young people really enjoyed bringing recycled materials to life and the results were fabulous with each child taking home their very own work to brighten up the garden. Gallery Encounters was the next fun activity at Greenfield Arts.  The session was led by talented tutor Jilly Johnston who introduced the children and families to the art of mono-printing.

The children had the chance to visit the gallery and take inspiration from the work of professional artist, Stephen Wiper.  Everyone involved had great fun learning new skills, in a lovely friendly environment.  The final session brought in an element of design, led by artist and illustrator Sharron Bates the young people got the chance to show off their talents by helping to create a fabulous display for the Foyer at Greenfield Community College. Families worked brilliantly with Sharron to bring beauty and inspiration to their very own installation, creating stunning birds coupled with inspirational text, inviting everyone and anyone to come in and let their creativity flow, a real testament to their hard work. All in all a really great week well done to everyone involved!
