Excitement is building for this year’s Chocolate Walk organised by Butterwick Hospice. The phone lines are buzzing and the emails are pinging but take heart, there are still a few tickets left. The Chocolate Walk is a fantastic fun event where parents get to join in all the tasks and win the chocolate prizes too! The event is held in Hamsterley Forest where families follow a trail over 3 kilometres and take part in fun challenges along the way that are suitable for children and grown-ups to achieve. Last year’s theme was based on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and families met up with our fabulous Mr Wonka and his Oompaloompas.

This year we are inviting families to follow the yellow brick road on our wonderful Wizard of Oz themed walk. There will be lots of surprizes, face painting, fun and entertainment from ‘Make My Day Events’ who will introduce you to Dorothy, that cuddly, cowardly Lion, bashful Scarecrow and the squeaky Tin Man! The Chocolate Walk is taking place at Hamsterley Forest on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st April, perfect for a great day out during the Easter school holidays. Tickets cost just £8, children 2 and under go free.  All profits from this event go to support Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland which freely cares for people across Weardale, Teesdale and the Sedgefield area who are diagnosed with a life limiting illness. Booking forms are on our website at www.butterwick.org.uk/chocolatewalkhamsterley or contact our Fundraising office 01388 603003 during normal office hours. Make sure you book yours today!
