Newton Aycliffe resident and entrepreneur Justyna Hambly has successfully launched a translating, interpreting and HR consultancy business. Having spent over a decade managing various businesses Justyna wanted to do something for herself. She saw this as a great opportunity to use her fluent language skills and HR expertise to start a translation and HR consultancy business. Being Polish but having lived in the UK for over 11 years, Justyna saw the need for her services in the North East and a gap in the market. She launched Avas Consulting in November 2015 and has never looked back. The GAMP Employability Skills and Discretionary Fund, managed by Bishop Auckland College, provided funding, allowing Justyna to complete a translation and interpreting course, equipping her with the necessary qualifications, to be able to offer her services to both businesses and private individuals. Justyna commented: “Thanks to the GAMP Employability and Discretionary Fund and Step Into Business GAMP funding I was able to fulfil my dreams and set up my own business. The application process for both projects was straight-forward and seamless. I would highly recommend these initiatives to anybody who has a good business idea but perhaps due to personal circumstances needs a little bit of help to make it happen.” Justyna is now running her business throughout the North East.
