North-East based craft retailer, Crafter’s Companion, is celebrating the second anniversary of its flagship store in Newton Aycliffe with a four-day long event this weekend.

Since opening its doors in 2016, the Newton Aycliffe store has sold over 250,000 products and has welcomed tens of thousands of customers through its doors. This weekend the store team will be celebrating by hosting a bank-holiday birthday party.

The event, which will take place from Friday 25th May until Monday 28th May, will see visitors welcomed with a ‘Birthday Tea’, exclusive giveaways and product demonstrations, product reveals and birthday offers.

There will also be workshops hosted by fan favourites, Leann Chivers and Sheena Douglas, and Crafter’s Companion founder and creative director, Sara Davies.

Sara said: “Another rewarding year at Newton Aycliffe has flown by. What was once a big idea has becoming a thriving success and we cannot thank our loyal customers enough for their continued support. I am extremely proud of our flagship store, its staff and what we have achieved.

“From sneak-peeks at our new products to competitions, the long weekend looks to be full of fun and we hope people will come along and help us celebrate another fantastic year.”

The event will start with a limited-space messy crafting class on Friday, with various demonstrations continuing throughout Saturday to Monday, showcasing new product lines and additions to already popular collections.

“Our anniversary weekends have always been designed to celebrate not only the store, but our customers, the local community in Newton Aycliffe and everyone that has contributed to the triumph of the store. I can’t wait to cut our birthday cake on the Sunday.”

Founded in 2005, Crafter’s Companion manufactures, distributes and retails crafting tools and products not only via its own outlets in Newton Aycliffe, Chesterfield and Evesham, but in thousands of independent retailers, on TV shopping channels across the globe and via their own website.

The Newton Aycliffe store and cafe opened in May 2016, and has become a well-known hub for workshops, running a regular calendar of events over its two dedicated demonstration areas.

The event is free to attend, but VIP tickets are available for purchase both in-store and online. Tickets can be redeemed for a goodie bag jam-packed with over £30 worth of craft products until the Sunday. Across the weekend there will also be a number of birthday promotions.
