Refurbishment of Godfrey Bennett’s Charity shop at St. Clare’s Church is making good progress and will reopen on Saturday 2nd June with normal opening hours as advertised in Newton News.

Since the age of 5 Godfrey has collected a vast range of items and 2 years ago his wife insisted he must free up the space his hoarding has caused.

So he emptied his garage, loft, bedrooms and shed and rented a room at St. Clare’s Hall. Since then he has sold £9,000 worth of goods with every penny donated to charity including the Air Ambulance and the MRI Scanner Appeal.

Godfrey thanks everyone who has supported him including Newton News and says a warm welcome awaits new and old customers to view his extensive mix of goods when the shop re-opens.
