Members of the Royal Naval Association in Newton Aycliffe are seen here presenting a cheque for £200.00 to Pat Chambers Charity Development Manager at Co. Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Charity towards the MRI Scanner Appeal.

Club Chairman Geoff and his wife Enid, are the original members of the association, launching the club some 42 years ago and a part of building the fabulous Navy Club where it is now on Bluebell Way, with funding help from Twinnings. The Navy Club is well used by the whole community and offers extensive facilities for functions and events.

Pat Chambers NHS Charity Fundraiser said: “I am absolutely delighted to receive this donation towards the MRI Scanner Appeal and am particularly grateful as I understand that most fundraising would normally go towards supporting Naval charitable causes.

I understand some of the existing members have had need of our MRI Scanner recently and it prompted them to consider how they could support our very local cause. We are very grateful to everyone.”
