• DCC Cabinet meeting (Wolsingham School, Council Finances & Performance, Health & Social Care Plan update), Wednesday 13 March.

• Well done DCC! Forrest Park featured on the Invest Great Britain exhibition at the MIPIN international investment event in Cannes last week, and Aykley Heads & Integra Bowburn featured on the Invest Newcastle stand.

• DCC’s Operation Spruce Up is coming back to Newton Aycliffe and will focus this time on the Central Avenue area.

• Wheels to Work – a scheme to help young people having difficulty in getting to work/college by public transport – is to be rolled out to Newton Aycliffe residents.

• Chat facility introduced at DCC’s DurhamWorks 16-24 job initiative.

• The Great Aycliffe & Middridge Partnership AAP e-bulletin (GAMP-funded project updates, youth sessions at the Youthie, Skills, Mental Health and Hydrotherapy Pool) is published.

• PCVC Ron Hogg’s ‘Community Safety Projects and Initiatives’ Fund is now open for applications.

• If you are one of those people who believe that schools should not be used as polling stations, the DCC consultation on polling districts and places ends on 31 March.

• Well done Newton Press, regional ‘Heart of the Community’ winners at the North East Business Awards.

• Newton Aycliffe Youth & Community Centre is now a collection and distribution point for the Red Box Project.
