Free week for many of our teams as lots of players and coaches headed to London.
U12 Eagles 3 v 1 Marske Utd
Hosting the team sitting top of the table and with Aycliffe currently sitting second it was expected to be a competitive game and it didn’t disappoint. An absolutely outstanding performance from every single player on the pitch, all giving 100%, and the football played was unbelievable. An incredibly entertaining game and the boys fully deserved the win. Goals from Jack V, Borys and Dan. MoM – Whole Team.
U13 Angels 3 v 3 Hetton Jnr Girls
When does a draw feel like a win? When you come from 0-3 down to equalise in the last couple of minutes. An astonishing match which the girls turned around to pull out an unlikely draw. Star player choices were Romilly (hat-trick hero) and Sophie who drove the team forward.
U14 Eagles 0 v 2 Durham Utd
The first half was very evenly matched with both teams having chances in front of goal forcing both keepers to make some great saves. HT 0-0. In the second half Durham applied pressure straight away and although The Eagles played some great football in spells, Durham went a goal ahead and then added a second with a lucky deflection from an attempted clearance. MoM went to our keeper Kian.
U13 Girls 4 v 9 Rutherford
Entertaining match with a bit of everything. Two penalty saves, spectacular goals and debut goals. We equalised twice to draw the game 3-3 but the second half was difficult. Goals, Charlotte, Peyton and Amy 2 each. POTM: Macey.
U13 Boys 4 v 4 Brompton Jnrs
A well-drilled first half performance with the wind against us, but the lads took a deserved 1-0 lead into HT. An open second half, which saw 7 goals, at one point the lads found themselves undeservedly 4-2 down with 10 minutes to go. But a standout never-give-up team performance saw Youthy equalise with the final kick of the game. FT 4-4. Goals: Evan, Elliott, Josh and Jacob. MOMs: Jacob & Sam.
U8 Eagles v Billingham Lions
A dominant performance from the lads despite going 1 down after 2 mins, but they kept their shape and worked hard as a team. The pressing and closing down prevented Billingham getting a hold in the game. A quiet game for GK Freddie as he was well defended by Alex and Thomas BW. Hat Tricks from Rogan, Ethan, Benjamin and 2 x Thomas F. MOTM: Rogan.
Hartlepool St Francis v U7 Eagles
Very difficult playing conditions for the lads but they matched their opponents and the lead switched several times before Hartlepool scored twice in the closing stages. Goals from Zac, Josh and Luke.
Under 6 Eagles (boys) and Under 7 Wildcats (girls)
