Then, from a long throw, Evie latched onto the ball, took her time and finished with confidence and power. Shildon FC 2 – Aycliffe U13 Eagles 7
The game started with the Eagles taking the lead through Kaiden who had read the play well and knocked it past the keeper. A short back pass to the keeper and Kaiden was there to intercept the ball, took it round the keeper and found the net. Shildon then had a spell of really good football and scored 2 goals in quick succession. HT 2-2. Then Jake finished with style. Hamza skipped round the Shildon defence to score. Jake scored the 5th and Adam the 6th. The final goal came when Adam took a shot towards goal and was diverted for an OG. To round off a great match Kian saves a penalty. MOTM Hamza and Ellis.
Aycliffe U18 Girls 4 v Shincliffe 5
A very poor first half from Aycliffe give the opposition the initiative to take the lead, then, despite an equaliser from Katie, poor defending from a corner and free shots from outside the box and we’re down, before Jess pulls one back. Half time 2-4. The rain got heavier but encouraging words and the girls responded, Olivia prods home from a corner and then it was the bar on 2 occasions preventing the equaliser. Alex, at right back, was holding firm and setting us away down the right hand side. However, another poor goal and Shincliffe extend their lead 3-5. Aycliffe kept pushing forward and Kate gets her second only for the bar twice again stopping an equaliser. FT 4-5.
Stokesley v Aycliffe U10 Eagles
A trip to the unbeaten team in the league but the boys dominated. Dylen opened the scoring from an 18 yard free kick then Faris gets the Eagles 2nd and 3rd goals. A trademark finish from Tarek and we arrived at the HT break. It was then Stokesley who opened the 2nd half before Dylen and Sam rounded off a resounding win.
Aycliffe U8’s Wildcats v Herrington
The game was played in atrocious conditions but the girls battled hard and had the better of a tight first half. Wasn’t our day after half time, but the girls battled till the end.
Aycliffe U13 Girls 4 v Darlington FC 9
Aycliffe started the brighter of the two teams but Darlington were quick to fire back. Overall, the girls scored some great team goals and had to show character to come back to make it a game of two halves after Darlo went in with 8 goals at half time. We will work hard at training and go again next week.
POTM: Sophie, Goals: Demi x3 and Emily.
