The Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Mary Dalton, was pleased to be asked to pay a surprise visit to Rose Collings on her 90th birthday on Friday 3rd January.

Rose moved to the town with her Husband Tommy and Daughter Avril in 1966. She worked at G.E.C. for 19 years and was treasurer of The Monarchs Jazz Band from 1970 – 1979.

Rose was joined by her Daughter Avril, Son-in-Law, James and Grandson, Jenson, it was a lovely family get together to celebrate Rose’s big day.
