Up to date Town Councillor Sally Symons has collected unwanted school uniforms from 108 donors helping 81 families. Sally told Newton News: “We still have a wide range of shoes, trainers, bags and uniforms for free distribution, and receive daily phone calls and e-mails from people who want to donate.” Used Uniforms Help 81 Aycliffe Families “Just because school has started doesn’t mean we can’t help anyone in need. The only school uniforms we’ve had problems with is blue for St. Mary’s and Aycliffe Village School.
Blue shirts and uniforms for Byerley Park School where unfortunately people had to be turned away because we don’t have the stock. If anyone has any they would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.” There is a facebook page “Helpful Hand” which is the quickest way to contact Sally, but all other forms of contact are fine, but it may take a bit longer as Sally and her daughter both work full time. They will return calls as soon as possible. Sally added: “May I say a great big thank you to the people of Aycliffe who support this scheme, as without them none of the help we have given would have been possible.
