Two of Sedgefield 75 ASC’s swimmers were honoured to be selected as part of the England North swimming team at this year’s Sainsbury’s UK School Games. The games which took place from the 4th to the 7th of September 2014 in various locations around Manchester involved 1600 athletes from various sporting disciplines.

The swimming competition was held at the Manchester Aquatics Centre in the centre of the city and involved teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The England North team fielded a strong squad and won overall in the swimming competition.

Both Hannah and Matthew were excited about the whole event and had a very exciting weekend in which they also got to spectate at the cycling events in the National Cycling Centre’s Velodrome and watched the England hockey squad beat Scotland in the final of the hockey competition.

Head Coach, John Moore, was pleased to see that two of his swimmers had been chosen for the prestigious event and could see the reward of hard work and training had paid off with some good personal times achieved by Hannah and Matthew at the very start of the 2014/2015 swimming season.
