Fun in the Parks kicked off this year at the Town Centre Park on Wednesday 5th August, the weather was kind to us and over 1200 people attended the free event organised by Great Aycliffe Town Council, children enjoyed Punch and Judy shows, Mr Twister and his amazing magic tricks and balloon modelling, fairground rides and the animal train inflatable. We had a craft marquee, two face painters and NAYFC also held a football competition. We also had story time sessions for the little ones.
At Horndale Park on Friday 7th August, the sun shone while the children enjoyed the inflatable bouncy slide and a hedgehog hunt game, along with the usual Fun in the Parks activities. Over 500 people came along to join the fun.
At Moore Lane on 14th August we are expecting a visit from the Frozen Characters, Anna, Elsa and Olaf, along with a Frozen bouncy castle and a Frozen themed hunt. At the Oak Leaf Park on 19th August, we are having an animal theme with a visit from Kraffy Kritters with their interesting animals, an animal track hunt, the animal train inflatable which is always popular and a visit from 2 very famous mice – Mickey and Minnie.
We are also visiting St Oswald’s Park on Wednesday 19th August, Aycliffe Village on 26th August and Simpasture Park on 28th August.
