I want to thank everyone who supported this little rescue by purchasing raffle tickets. Everyone who won a prize has been contacted and have been kind enough to visit and collect their prizes, I apologise for the delay in drawing these tickets, it’s been a very difficult few weeks.
A special thank you to Karen, she was kind enough to visit me to collect her mum Elizabeth’s raffle prize, she also left a donation which I am very grateful for, rescuing does not come cheap, especially when I have poorly hogs, which I do at the moment.
Thanks always go to June and Valerie, they are always helping my little prickly babies.
The weather is getting better now and you all will be tidying up the garden, please spare these precious mammals their lives and check before you do anything like strimming, digging etc., baby season is approaching and a mum and her hoglets could be resting in your gardens.
If you see a Hedgehog out during the day it’s not OK, they are very nocturnal, when us rehabbers admit a big or little hog we have to work out what their problem is and, if they have a parasite burden, we use a microscope to identify their problem so we can medicate appropriately, all medications are readily available in my cupboard.
It’s hedgehog awareness week next week, and a bank holiday weekend, all the vets may be closed, but if you need any assistance regarding a Hedgehog please message me through Facebook. Details below.
