On Saturday 11th September 2021, three female RX CrossFit All Out teams battled it out at The Castle Games Same Sex Pairs competition held at CrossFit Darlington. The day consisted of three different workouts, and a final for those who were in 5th place or higher after the third workout.
All of the workouts were highly varied, including single leg synchro pistol squats, toes to bar, 35kg sandbag cleans and carries and much, much more. It was a thrilling day from start to finish for our athletes.
Marie Levitt & Claire Dale – 17th Place
“Claire and I had an amazing day competing at The Castle Games, this was my first RX competition and I felt out of my depth to begin with, however, I shocked myself getting a personal best snatch on workout three. We placed 17th overall which was way better than I had expected. It’s definitely given me a boost, and highlighted some areas I need to work on. Claire was an amazing partner and made me feel at ease throughout the day. It was a pleasure to compete with her and the support from the other girls and the CrossFit All Out team was amazing.”
Courtnie Mills & Vicki Finn Smith – 5th Place
“Me and Vicki had an awesome day competing at The Castle Games. Vicki is a phenomenal athlete and great friend, so I was excited to step up to the challenge and compete alongside her as her team mate. We were both super happy to make the final, which was our favourite workout of the day, including rope climbs and bar muscle ups. We have been working hard on high skill movements recently, so it was great to utilise new and refined skills on this workout. The support from the other girls and All Out team was second to none, very proud of our community.”
Jade Armstrong & Sophie Moffatt – 18th Place
“Me and Sophie had an amazing day competing at The Castle Games Same Sex Pairs comp. It was the first time we had competed together, so we just went there for a laugh and to gain experience. I was over the moon with both of our performances and was buzzing when I managed to match my 60kg snatch PB in workout three. The support from the community is unmatched, having Sophie to compete next to was amazing and I can’t wait for the next competition we do together.”
