Four members of the club enjoyed a successful evening in the second of the Stockton Summer Tees Trail series over 5K. The venue was the Lord Stones Café near Carlton Bank, North York Moors. With spectacular views across the coast, following the Cleveland Way, this was a challenging but rewarding event.
Dez Fielden was first finisher for the club in 20:05 and 3rd place, also 1st M/40, followed by John Burnside 37th in 24:36 and 1st M/55 and Cyd Upton 45th in 25:07 and 1st F/50. Paul Stetton finished the course in 28:36, 98th.
A number of Aycliffe athletes recently took part in the Raby Castle 10K. This two lap course takes runners through the scenic grounds of Raby Castle Estate and is quite hilly in places.
First home for the club in 6th place was Dez Fielden in the time of 36:59, followed by John Surtees 20th in 38:56 and Dave Blewitt 73rd in 44:26.
Tracy Surtees was the first female finisher for the club 76th in 44:34 and Sandra Collins was 1st F/50 and 122nd  overall in 47:51.
Next to cross the line was Steve Smith 137th in 48:26, followed by John Heywood 154th in 49:38 and Austin Donoghue 176th in 51:12.
Trish Kay, suffering with sore calves from a previous half marathon, taped them up and battled round the course to finish 183rd in 51:38, followed by Gary Minns 188th in 51:58 and Carla Norton 269th in 61:03.
Susan Clark was second F/60 in 64:58 and Yvonne Williams wasn’t far behind in 66:43.
Amanda Heywood chose the shorter option and ran in the 5K race finishing 90th in 34:02.
In the Melmerby 10K Robert Young finished 66th in 42:55 and John Young was 155th in 49:16.
In Parkruns course PBs were achieved by the following :- Darlington South Park, Yvonne Williams 29:54 and Elaine Morgan 30:41. Sedgefield, Mike Brunskill 24:01 and Austin Donoghue 24:04.
