Sugar Hill Mini-Police were very busy last Friday as part of Road Safety Awareness Week. Dressed in non-school uniform to raise funds for the ‘Blue for Jackson’ charity, this dedicated group of pupils then put on their Mini-Police uniforms to spread the road safety message to parents and carers outside school.

Completing traffic surveillance outside school really changes the behaviour of some motorists. The children have noticed how much slower cars travel along Sheraton Road when they are on duty. Looking out for cars that are illegally parked is always a focus of the traffic surveillance events.

Mini-Police will be on duty again really soon and would like to thank all those drivers who drive carefully at all times.

Mini-Police are keen that motorists are extra careful as they travel along Sheraton Road and the surrounding roads.

Mrs Legge (Deputy Head) has led a Road Safety Assembly reminding children to add a bright hat or scarf if they wear dark clothing when they are out and about throughout the winter months.

To find out more about the charity Sugar Hill Pupils have been raising money for, you can find information on the internet . . . simply type ‘Blue for Jackson’.

We, as a school, are proud to have supported Jackson’s Mam provide Road Safety resources to other schools, in his memory raising £280.86.

Many thanks to all parents and carers for their support.
