Skaters representing Spectrum RSC based at Sunnydale Leisure Centre in Shildon came home with medals after a successful competition at Spring Solos.

The National Competition at Kettering held 14th/15th March 2020 attracted skaters from all over the country, Team Spectrum had fantastic performances with five of the eleven skaters performing at this level for the first time. Ten year old Jazzmyn Loring, who moved into Elementary category, gained a silver medal for her Carlos Tango and Denver Shuffle. Nine year old Iris Comerford skated to a Bollywood themed freedance achieving a bronze medal in her category. All of the skaters performed well and enjoyed a weekend together although there were some restrictions in place due to the coronavirus – there was no podium and no handshakes, hugging was not allowed and everyone in the building was encouraged to handwash regularly!
