It was a tough weekend for Scarlet at Teesside Motorsport Circuit for the ‘double header’ (rounds 5&6) of the Sprint Series where she was competing in the highly competitive Honda Cadet 200cc class.
Despite not having been in her kart for two months Scarlet achieved her best result in qualifying to date, which meant she would start the race from a credible 10th place on the grid out of 19 entrants.
After a great get away Scarlet was subject to some unnecessary contact from another driver causing Scarlet to spin, undoing all of her good work.
Despite this, and a couple of other setbacks in her races, Scarlet’s resilience paid dividends in that she managed to achieve a personal best lap time and a decent showing in her first race in full wet conditions.
“I have learnt much this weekend as well as having a great time,” Scarlet said, “I look forward to my next race.”
“Scarlet showed great resilience and determination throughout the weekend which provides great experience for future races,” said Mam.
We would like to thank Amaron Racing, PHM (Peninsula Historic Motorsport), Grandad and Rob Storey for their generous assistance and financial support making this possible.
