The Villiers Quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) will perform in the Chapel at Auckland Castle in the third concert of Bishop Auckland Music Society’s 2016 series on Friday, 17th June at 7.30pm. Described as ‘one of the most charismatic and adventurous quartets of the British chamber music scene’ (The Strad) the Quartet will perform works by Beethoven, Granero and Mendelssohn.
Named after Villiers Street in London’s colourful musical epicentre, the Villiers Quartet encompasses the grand and iconic spirit of the extraordinary music tradition in London. Nothing is outside of their repertoire as they define the string quartet for the 21st century.
