The Wellbeing for Life service are inviting people to a charity Health Walk from the Pioneering Care Centre in aid of Armed Forces Day. The walk is taking place on Tuesday 21 June at 10am.
Armed Forces Day is on Saturday 25 June and is a chance for people to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Anyone can join in with the weekly walkers who attend the Health Walk on a Tuesday. Participants will be led around part of the scenic Aycliffe Way and back to the Centre where refreshments will be available for a small donation.
Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) offer specialist health trainer support for veterans through the countywide Wellbeing for Life service. Anyone who has served in the HM Armed Forces and their families are encouraged to attend to show support and to speak to Health Trainers about the service.
The Wellbeing for Life service is funded by Public Health County Durham and aims to take a ‘whole person’ approach to improving health. Wellbeing for Life is about your happiness, your health, whether you want to make new friends, learn new skills, or manage your weight
Specialist support is also available for other population groups including people with learning disabilities, older people, male manual workers, offenders, people with poor mental health and people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.
