Dear Sir,

As a child, I lived in Bowes Road with my parents, brother and sisters, near the post box, and it brought back lots of happy memories of us playing out.

My parents used the post box as a landmark to let us know that was the furthest point that we were allowed to go. (The green hill to the post box!)

I was therefore a little saddened to see its demise. I have no idea how it has happened, whether it was because of the amount of water that has come down or whether it has been deliberately vandalised. I do hope that it can be restored to its former glory.
