Dear Sir,
As the Poppies, donated and made by many in the local Aycliffe area for Remembrance Sunday and inspired by the late Newton News editor, have now been removed, I for one wanted you to know that our household are missing them.
These were a welcoming, bright and cheery sight on the corner of Central Avenue next to the War Memorial; especially at this cold, dark and damp time of year.
