Dear Sir,
Phil Wilson said our Town Centre is taking another step forward just because we have had new signs erected to the Town Centre, What he does not say is we have lost another good shop “Grannies Kitchen” which has been a big loss to our town, How on earth can he say this is a step forward?
I agree with Mr Coglan in last week’s Newton News that the real vision for the townsfolk would be an Out of Town Retail Park with plenty of good shops to bring the people into Newton Aycliffe similar to what is happening at Tindale.
Our councillors could also take a ride to the Arnison  Centre in Pity Me on the outskirts of Durham City. There is a bus from Newton Aycliffe goes straight there and you can use your Bus Pass if eligible. There are plenty of good shops, cafes, restaurants all in one place. so why don’t we have one too? Let’s put Aycliffe on the Map – new signs do not help much!
Maud Gray,
Stephenson Way
