Castlereagh Close residents called on local County Councillors Eddy Adam and Kate Hopper to try and resolve their street car parking problem. The Councillors carried out a number of site visits to establish the cause and this highlighted a number of issues such as too many cars for the narrow street, inconsiderate parking and lack of alternative parking.
After discussions with the residents a workable solution was identified which involved removing part of the green verge and extending the parking area to accommodate more cars. Resident Tommy Wright indicated this has improved parking and allowed cars wider access to get in and out of the street and everyone is pleased with the outcome.
Eddy and Kate said that, although this can be an expensive solution it has made life more bearable for the residents concerned and feel they have delivered a value added parking solution.
