Husband and wife team Adele and Michael Reeve sold their home to pursue their dream of owning a nursery. Adele an experienced nursery manager with over 12 years in childcare holds a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
She was born in Newton Aycliffe, still has family here and very proud to return and open Summerhill Nursery formerly known as Little Acorns on Durham Way North. It has been totally renovated to offer the most modern facilities in Nursery Care.
Summerhill wanted to create a welcoming space with a natural, home like feel so that children could feel relaxed, ready to take on all the wonderful activities on offer. They also want to ensure the space was flexible so that it could be changed easily in line with children’s interests.
There is a milk kitchen in the baby room which enables staff to respond to hungry babies calmly and quickly. The toilet and changing areas are located directly from nursery rooms
Summerhill boasts a beautiful central area, set under a glass roof, which is a flexible space that can be used for a wide range of activities such as music and movement or to hold events such as the forthcoming Holly Jolly Christmas event.
Staff includes a team of professionals who share a passion for providing exceptional childcare and education.
Sarah Lewins is Deputy Manager and holds a degree in education and early childhood studies along with teacher status. She was born and raised in Newton Aycliffe and has 7 years’ experience. Newtonian Haywood Gales is the nursery practitioner who has a degree in early childhood studies and delighted to be following her lifelong passion working with children.
The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6pm. and the fees which are very competitive includes meals. formula milk, nappies and wipes.
