Dear Sir,
In response to the article on page 6 about the play area in the Cobblers Hall development. As one of the residents of the properties surrounding the area I feel the need to put our views forward.
We don’t have any problem with the children using this area however it was never intended to be used for ball games due to the size, it is far too small. This is supported by the number of times the ball strikes vehicles and bounces onto gardens.
We have experienced damage to our vehicle which could only have happened in this way. Suggestions have been made to Millers as to how this could be resolved to the satisfaction of all residents but nothing has come of the suggestions.
We even suggested to Millers a meeting with all residents to discuss an outcome which would be suitable to all but again to no avail. We do appreciate that children do have a right to play but isn’t that the reason we purchase a property with a garden so that they can do so safely?
We have also commented to Millers on the current condition of the area, with regards to the appearance and health and safety. The current planting scheme appears as though it is not looked after by either Millers, Local Council or the residents.
The fencing put in place to protect this area is regularly used as a climbing frame by the children which is obviously a safety issue. In order to reach an outcome that is acceptable to all maybe the residents need to get together!
