Final league match of the season and WOW!!
MCYFC Aycliffe 18 v Velocity Tigers FC 2
Well, what a way to end the season. This performance was amazing. Straight from kick-off they were relentless. Winning every ball and driving straight at the opposition. As a team, we had a couple targets to get from the game. First was to try and help Oscar James break the 30 goals for the season target and to be the leagues top scorer. Second was to win and consolidate 5th place.
There was some amazing goals scored today, possibly the pick of the bunch coming from Lewis. After conceding our 2nd goal he received the ball straight from kick-off. He drove forward and took on Velocity single handed and he then struck the ball into the back of the net.
Goals scored: Oscar x7 (given an extra goal from an own goal), Lewis x5, Cruz x4, Ethan x1 and Bradley x1 (first for the team).
All targets smashed.
MoM: EVERYONE. After scoring 18 goals there isn’t any possible way to choose any one player. Everyone played amazingly and destroyed the opposition.
Massive thank you to all the kids and parents who have helped get this team to where it is.
We have grown from strength to strength throughout the season and it’s been a joy to watch.
This is truly the start of something special.
