Dear Sir,

I think this will be of interest for some of our older and more vulnerable readers.

There is an email doing the rounds, reportedly from the HM Courts and Tribunals service detailing a fixed penalty fine for parking a vehicle.

Beware, it is a scam!

I have contacted HMRC and they have been inundated with calls about this issue.

What to look out for in the email:

1. It only says United Kingdom in location.

2. It quotes that the telephone number is currently unavailable.

3. Spelling mistakes.

If readers receive this email – DO NOT click on the link but instead forward the email to – HMRC will ONLY contact you by letter with a photograph for any driving/fixed penalty fines.

You should not give out any credit card or bank details to any person ringing or emailing you.
