I have lived and worked in and around the surrounding areas of Newton Aycliffe all my life. After my apprenticeship, I started work as a dental nurse in Aycliffe Dental Practice many, many years ago and moved on to Orthodontics in Darlington in 2001, whilst at the same practice for just short of 20 years, I gained my Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy. I am currently employed in a practice at Bishop Auckland, this is where I treat many of our town’s residents.
Outside of my career I am married to a loving supporting husband, we have beautiful, strong, independent teenage twins, and they attend one of our local secondary schools. I have tried to be proactive in supporting our community by helping as a volunteer with the local community group ‘Community Spirit’ since it started up, helping to organise and working the craft fairs, disco’s, Santa’s grotto and Santa’s Street collections.
For all I am working full time with a family, I feel I still have spare time to share to be able to support our great town which is why I am standing in the By-election for Byerley Park, Horndale and Cobbler’s Hall ward. I promise to try to bring fairness and common sense to serve the residents of our beautiful town if elected.
Many thanks,
Lindsey Aston
