Greenfield Arts are delighted to be involved in a project that has community spirit at its heart. The project, ‘Shout ‘bout Shildon’, benefits from a valuable partnership with Shildon Town Council on a Heritage Lottery funded project to celebrate and be informed by the people of Shildon.

Artist, Paul Theo Murray, will be working with the community exploring the heritage and spirit of the town, bringing to life the characteristics that inspire a sense of community. Paul will be mapping out community moments and places of interest through his artwork.

The project is inspired by the way people came together in positive ways during challenging times and the way this has been celebrated on VE Day. Creative Director, Katy Milne, has been working alongside partners and is looking forward to the artistic outcomes that will inspire community. “This project will highlight and celebrate the fantastic people of Shildon and the way they look out for each other and pull together at difficult times. We have seen so many recent examples and acts of kindness that are worth shouting about. It’s important we celebrate the fantastic community spirit we continue to see.”
