It’s been very quiet because a lot of our prickly pals are hibernating but there are still times where little ones are discovered and when the weather conditions worsen these small hedgehogs die in the wild, which is tragic to say the least. Tara and myself still have twenty healthy, happy, waiting for spring, hedgehogs in the safety of our homes, Cerys, Betsy, Poppet and, not forgetting our latest admission, George, to name but a few who are doing well and the oldest we have had in Rescue. None of this would be at all possible without our supporters who help us fundraise and a lot of them are our hedgehog finders. However, a big thank you to June and Will, they have made some beautiful Easter Treats for us to sell, all profits go to the hedgehogs for their food, bedding, medicine and specialist equipment that most rescues need to diagnose and treat sick and injured hedgehogs.

We have our new Facebook page, should anyone like to visit, Prickly Haven Hedgehog Hotel and also a new email address pricklyhaven@yahoo.com if you need to get in touch.

Tip of the week: If you see a hedgehog and think it’s got problems please pick it up, pop it in a high sided box with something warm, like a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, keep warm and quiet if possible and get help, either BHPS on 01584 890801, or your local Vet.
