Great Aycliffe & Middridge Partnership (GAMP) support many community groups in a wide range of projects throughout the year.
This week GAMP Board Member, Cllr David Sutton-Lloyd, was able to help celebrate two further successful projects run at Woodham Village Community Centre.
The GAMP Employability Skills & Discretionary Fund Project (managed by Bishop Auckland College) coordinated a first aid course for Lifeline Community Action volunteers to help develop the group. Some of the successful Lifeline Community Action volunteers are pictured with Brian Riley, Area Action Partnership Coordinator, who said; “It’s great to see the LCA Volunteers completing a first aid course, which assists them in developing their service for the benefit of Aycliffe residents.”
On Friday evening Woodham Village Community Association hosted the first annual awards for the Junior Gymnastics Club who meet every Friday at the Centre. Previous GAMP Area Budget funding provided a full set of very high quality and very safe gymnastic equipment.
Youngsters from 2 years old provided an excellent night of entertainment with demonstrations for a very proud audience of mams, dads, grandparents and great grandparents.
The evening was rounded off with an Olympian medal ceremony.
This was greatly appreciated, especially when younger and some ‘older’ members realised, they were made of chocolate.
