Ron Mitchie Chairman of GACAP was one of the many partners who were collecting money for their Discretionary Fund in Tesco last week.
Ron said, “I am blown away with the generosity of the people of Newton Aycliffe. They excelled themselves last week with an amount of nearly £250. Not one person had any objection in putting their hands in their pockets to give.
At one time there was a queue of people with money in their hands waiting to give. I want to thank personally everyone who donated. and also those partners of GACAP for their help on the day”.
GACAP is working hard to raise their profile and get on-board all those who have a heart for people in our community who are in need, either as partners, associates or friends.
The idea of the awareness day was that of Vice Chairman of GACAP Geoff Batchelor who represents Rotary as a partner of GACAP. Geoff contacted Helen Maynard Tesco Manager and she was able to accommodate us.
At the beginning of this festive season, when some people are counting their pennies it is rewarding to see people take time to give to those who are in need.
