The Halloween Spooktacular held at ROF59 by Aycliffe Radio was a huge success, selling out weeks before the event and, in the process, raising £755 for local charities; Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust raised £275 with a raffle and tombola on the night, a further £160 was donated to Lifeline Community Action, Sisters of Support and 5 Acres.
Over 240 attended the night and were entertained by members of ‘Sing It’, arranged and tutored by Cassandra Bowtell.
Thank you to Shake ‘n’ Cake for supplying the ‘treats’ for the children; special mention must go to the ‘actors’ who dressed up and entered into the fun of scaring those brave enough to walk the ‘Scare Walk’.
Disco was provided by Nathan Abbott of Aycliffe Radio and Solan Connor Fawcett Family Cancer Trust ran a tombola and raffle.
Plans are already underway for next year’s Halloween at ROF59, watch Newton News and Aycliffe Radio website for more details.
