Rotary Newton Aycliffe and Shildon Model Railway Club have coupled up again, after a two-year gap due to the pandemic, to hold what is acknowledged as one of the very best model railway exhibitions in the North East of England. The event will be raising funds for ‘Heel and Toe’, a charity caring for young people suffering from cerebral palsy across the North East.
More than twenty layouts from a wide range of scales, periods and locations will be joined by ten trade stands and three preservation societies, at the usual venue of the Newton Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre in Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe DL5 4HT. A members’ sales stand and tombola will be available.
The venue has level access throughout with car parking nearby and refreshments all day, including the famous bacon butties. Open from 10am until 5pm, entry will cost £6 for adults, £5 for concessions and 50p for children. A family ticket is available for £12. Wheelchair users, free entry.
For a friendly welcome and a great day out in the birthplace of the railways, bring the family and join us on Saturday 26 March 2022.
