Year 10 pupils from Woodham Academy arranged a festive afternoon for Residents at HC-One’s Defoe Court care home in Newton Aycliffe on Saturday 12th November.

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, the secondary school pupils arranged a fun-filled afternoon at Defoe Court with local school children singing Christmas songs while Residents and guests enjoyed delicious cakes and beverages.

The pupils dressed as elves and spent the afternoon socialising with Residents and ensuring the afternoon was enjoyed by all. Residents commented that the children had done an amazing job arranging the event and thanked them for such an entertaining festive afternoon.

Defoe Court Home Manager, Sarah Todd said: “Thank you so much to the lovely children who arranged this for our Residents, they visit Defoe Court every week and we all look forward to seeing them.”
