“On behalf of myself and Northumbria Blood Bikes we would like to thank Tesco for allowing us to do a fund raising day at Their Newton Aycliffe store on 8th February 2018.

We would also like to thank the customers for their generosity in once again donating to our cause. Without funding days like this we wouldn’t be able to transport life saving blood, samples, notes and medical equipment from hospital to hospital when needed.

All we do is with no cost to the nhs as we provide this service from donations received and all our members are volunteers.

The NBB is a charity run organisation run entirely on donations from days like today. Tesco was kind enough to clear a space in the shop foyer area, to allow us to put one of our bikes inside and in full view of customers entering and leaving the store.

Many customers, young and old took, their turn at sitting on the bike for photos. Many thanks to Store manager Helen Maynard and Community Champion Shirley Cormack for joining in the photo with myself Mel Simmons and NBB shift controller Judith Russell.

Once again thank you all.”
