If you’ve ever visited Pioneering Care Partnership’s fantastic purpose-built healthy living centre in Newton Aycliffe, you’ll know it houses a fantastic range of projects, services and activities to bring people together and support healthier lifestyles.

Now the local charity, whose mission is ‘Health, Wellbeing and Learning for All’ is launching a major campaign to fund the renovation of the area’s only publicly accessible hydrotherapy pool. You can use the hydrotherapy pool there without medical referral for relaxation, gentle exercise and the relief of discomfort. Well-used by the community, particularly older people, those with disabilities and mobility complaints as well as parents and babies; it offers the chance for people to make social connections and improve their physical fitness.

However, at twenty years old, the pool now needs a massive overhaul and PCP is asking for your help.

Quote: “Our hydrotherapy pool is an amazing resource in the area, unfortunately an increasing number of breakdowns and disruption to service users has necessitated plans for a new facility. We hope to create a more spacious, updated hydrotherapy haven. We want to build more adequate facilities such as better changing areas, updated practical safety hoists, disability compliant toilets and new water therapy features.” Carol Gaskarth, Chief Executive of PCP

The charity is appealing to the public and local businesses to get involved in their ‘Dive In’ fundraising campaign to raise over £200,000.
