Junction 7 would like to thank the people of Newton Aycliffe and surrounding areas for their amazing donations over the Christmas period.

Our foodbank was well and truly stocked. Unfortunately the shelves don’t stay full for long, with the many families we help.

We were able to help several families with not only a food parcel but with toys and a treat hamper over the festive period.

Our Christmas Day dinner went down very well, 30 people enjoying a three course dinner and all went home with a gift. This was a free event put on by Junction 7 volunteers.

Once again we realised that there are many lonely people about, some with sad stories. Junction 7 have been able to engage with these people that are lonely and will be continuing our drop ins and visits. Knowing even more so that there is a need.

We will be announcing soon, different groups starting up in The ARK, hopefully these groups will bring people together and combat loneliness and mental health issues.

Junction 7 became a registered charity in September of last year.

Recently we strengthened the team with two new trustees. The skills they bring to the table will include a knowledge of policies, procedures and training. A new treasurer has also been appointed.

Having people on board that can take on these responsibilities means other trustees and volunteers can put their strengths into practice in serving our communities better.

Our Community Cafe continues Mondays and Thursdays 10.00am-3.00pm. Where you can enjoy home cooked food and a chat in a friendly place; Tuesday and Wednesday drop in 1.00-3.00pm

We are also a NE First Credit Union collection point – which is open Mondays 10.00am-3.00pm

Junction 7 are based in The ARK, Silverdale Place Newton Aycliffe DL5 7DZ.
