Paul and Lynne Arnold, Directors of Fangdale Financial Ltd from School Aycliffe set out from Melrose in the Scottish Borders to walk the 67½ mile St. Cuthbert’s Way which ends on Lindisfarne.
“We decided to give up some time and take the opportunity to raise money for charity. Sponsor forms were produced and circulated.” Paul’s chosen charity was Redcar and Cleveland Mind Group who have been supporting many of the workers who lost their jobs when the steel works closed last year. They offer counselling and advice to those affected by the closure and much needed support to those struggling to come to terms with the loss of their livelihood.
Lynne’s chosen charity was Bunny Burrows Small Animal Refuge in Richmond which is run by Gwen Butler. As a lifelong animal lover, Lynne has been impressed with Gwen’s devotion to animal welfare since taking some guinea-pigs a number of years ago which were awaiting re-homing. Paul and Lynne raised a total of £1,000 enabling them to give each charity £500. They would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored them enabling them to give much needed funds to these worthwhile charities.
