Fifteen swimmers from Sedgefield 75 swimming club took part in the Wear Valley level 3 Meet at Bishop Auckland this weekend.
Everyone had a magnificent weekend of competition, putting maximum effort into their races and producing some really fantastic results, with some making qualification times for the Northumberland & Durham Championships next year. We are very grateful to Wear Valley ASC as the gala was superbly run and all our swimmers thoroughly enjoyed the event.
The team took part in a total of 97 swims, bringing home 47 medals and numerous personal best times for each swimmer, which is absolutely tremendous.
Competing for Sedgefield were:
Charlie McEwan, Charlotte Lee, Chloe Harding, Ethan Craig, Filip Wilczynski, James Hodgson, Katelyn Craig, Kathryn Lee, Lewis Turnbull, Liam Hughes, Matthew Wimbury, Mateusz Wilczynski, Oliver Turnbull, Tom Curran and Zoe Hodgson.
Mateusz Wilczynski took Gold in the 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM and 200 breast. Silver in the 50 breast, 100 free, 50 back, 100 back, 200 back and Bronze in the 200 free.
James Hodgson took Gold in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free and 100 IM. Silver in the 50 back, 100 back and Bronze in the 200 back.
Matthew Wimbury took Gold in the 50 breast, 100 breast, Silver in the 50 free, 100 IM and Bronze in the 50 back, 100 back and 100 free.
Filip Wilczynski made his debut at this gala and brought home Silver in the 50 back, 100 back, 50 fly, 50 breast, 100 IM and Bronze in the 50 and 100 free, which is an amazing achievement for a first gala.
Tom Curran came home a champion as he took Gold in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 50 fly, 50 back and 100 back.
Katelyn Craig took Gold in the 50 fly, 200 fly, 100 free and Silver in the 200 IM.
Charlotte Lee took Gold in the 200 breast.
Kathryn Lee took Silver in the 200 back.
Oliver Turnbull took Bronze in the 200 breast.
Ethan Craig took Bronze in the 200 back.
Charlie McEwan took Bronze in the 50 free.
